There is a formula that you can use to work out the odds of winning your local,

First, you need to specify how many numbers you can play per ticket. Next list
the lowest possible number you can select as well as the highest. Then by using
the following formula you can work out the odds of winning the lottery:
So for instance, say a particular lottery requires 6 numbers to win and the lowest
number you can select is 1 and the highest is 50.
The formula would look like this:
1/50 ?1/49 ?1/48 ?1/47 ?1/46 ?1/45 = 1/11441304000
However, as there are 720 different permutations or ways in which you can list
your 6 numbers (1,2,3,4,5,6 or 6,5,4,3,2,1 or 1,3,5,2,4,6 for example) you can
divide 11441304000 by 720.
This gives you the odds of 15 890 700. This means you have a 1 in 15 890 700
chance of winning the above hypothetical lottery!
